What is Kinesiology

Kinesiology is the study of human movement. As a complementary therapy it is non-invasive, holistic and combines western science and eastern wisdom. Kinesiology uses gentle muscle monitoring (aka muscle testing) to identify where stress and energy imbalances are being held in the body, and pinpoints what the body needs to release it.

Muscle monitoring is a natural bio-feedback tool where information can be received from the brain and body. It bypasses conscious thinking and allows access to the subconscious to identify the factors contributing to the imbalances. Muscle testing is effective because the body already knows what it needs; Kinesiology enables us to bring that to the surface. The imbalances (stress) can be physical/structural, mental, emotional, energetic, spiritual or chemical.

Kinesiology originated from Chiropractic and has been developed to be a truly holistic natural therapy that draws upon Eastern wisdom. A fundamental principle of Kinesiology is that the body has the innate ability to heal. Utilising aspects of Chinese Medicine philosophies and Qi energy flow, Kinesiology acknowledges and understands the link between Qi energy flow and its associated muscles, organs, tissues and emotions. When energy flow is disrupted the body’s balance is affected. By using muscle testing we have a direct communication tool with the body to support balance being maintained. You may see Kinesiology sessions referred to as a ‘balance’ for this reason.

LA specifically practices as a PKP Kinesiologist (Professional Kinesiology Practitioner). PKP is a unique system incorporating many “finger-modes”, priority reflex point testing with a database system, 5-Element Theory (based on Traditional Chinese Medicine) and emotions to explore the depth of an issue so that your body can release stress and increase the potential for healing.
